Our zooish 2 weeks

What a 2 weeks it has been!  We went to 2 different zoo's.  My friend K told me that after I took Jif to the zoo he would probably speed up on his vocabulary.  I think that she was right.  These 2 weeks have been full of milestones and fun.  It started off on Thursday I took Jif on a date to get ice cream.  He loved it and talked to me about tons of things (most of which I couldn't understand).  Then we brought some ice cream home for daddy.

My friend K brought us to the zoo.  It was a blast.    Jif absolutely loves K's daughter and he had a really fun time looking at all of the animals.

But his favorite part of the zoo was the zoo park.  He loved climbing on all the animal statues.

I had to throw this picture in here.  I just bought Jif a CARS backpack.  He looks so cute with his backpack and his college sweatshirt.  I don't know why I didn't get him a backpack earlier.  It's awesome.  He gets to carry all of his stuff instead of me with a diaper bag.
Then on Saturday Gma and Gpa took us to the petting zoo.  Jif loved petting the sheep

There was even a section of bunnies and guinea pigs.  I did not think this was a good idea.  Many of the parents weren't watching their children and I saw 3 kids drop guinea pigs on their backs. Since I grew up with my parents owning a pet store I know how fragile these animals are and how they must be so stressed in this environment.  They were also being fed tons of fruits and vegetables which I'm sure would make them sick.  I'm no PETA member, but this part of the zoo made me cringe.

Jif went on pony rides, and had a blast feeding lettuce to llamas.  The next day after this trip I gave Jif his usual salad.  He rejected it like always but then I said, "look Jif this is lettuce like the llamas eat".  Now he eats all of his salad every day.  Thank you gma and gpa for helping our son eat his vegetables.

Here is Jif when he was supposed to be sleeping.  He's slowly pushing his cars out his door.  I can just imagine what he's thinking "Be free cars, you don't have to be trapped in here like me!"

April Fools

Yes, the last post was an April Fool's joke.  No I am not pregnant, and yes I know that breastfeeding is not an effective form of birth control.  I had fun fooling all of you.  I fooled a few other people on April Fool's Day.  We babysat for our date night co-op on April Fools Evening, so I told all of the kids that we were having cupcakes for dinner
The cupcakes on the left are meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting and a cherry tomato on top.  The ones on the right are strawberry cupcakes.

The kids were so excited to have cupcakes for dinner, and then they took a bite and were really confused.
Once they figured out it was meatloaf and potatoes they loved them.  Even the kids who normally don't like potatoes loved the potatoes (probably because they were cool colors).

Hope I didn't surprise you too much!  April Fools!

I'm positive

Last week I took a test and this is what it showed
I didn't believe it at first.  So yesterday I had a doctor's appointment.  I was thinking that it might have been positive from left over pregnancy hormones, I'm only 3 1/2 months postpartum.  So I got a blood test and it was positive too.  I don't know how this could have happened.  I have been exclusively breastfeeding!  Well, although this has come as a shock, we are so excited to add another member to our family, just a little sooner than we would have anticipated.  So since it's hard to tell when I conceived I had to have an ultrasound, and the fetus shows to be around 5 weeks gestation.  So that will put Reese and this little peanut a little under a year apart.  And I thought 22 months was close!  I think that we both want another girl, but we would be fine with either.  Make sure to take the poll and help us pick baby names!
